Chiaki KATO is a manager of Research Co-ordination and Promotion Office at Nuclear Science and Engineering Center, and Concurrent researcher of Research group for Nuclear Resistant Materials at Japan Atomic Energy Agency. He joined Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute as a researcher in 1994, and he has been a researcher of Japan Atomic Energy Agency since 2005. His main research themes are corrosion of materials for light water reactor and spent fuel reprocessing plant, and corrosion research related to decommissioning of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant. He is a member of the Atomic Energy Society of Japan, the Japan Institute of Metal and Materials, and the Japan Society of Corrosion Engineering.
